It is with huge regret that we have to announce that there will be no 2022 Frensham Sponsored Horse Ride.
For the last few months we have been trying to arrange for a new start/finish field following our traditional field being made unavailable. Sadly, following considerable efforts, meetings, site visits and alternative route options, we have drawn a blank.
The Farnham Hedgehog’s charity are extremely disappointed to have to make this decision as the event forms a major part of our fund raising for local people in need.

How to Enter
Online Using Equo
By registering with Equo the entry process for this Ride and all future Frensham Rides and all other rides in the UK who use Equo, will be simple. If however, you are borrowing a horse and don’t have all the information required by Equo please use the postal entry process
During the on line entry process you will be able to request your preferred start time. The Equo system will then confirm your ‘Start time and Rider Number’. If for any reason your preferred start time is not available then please email secretary@frenshamshr.org and she will either give your preferred time or a time as close as possible to your preference. As before we expect many hundreds of Riders and sometimes meeting your preferred time might not be possible. An early entry will clearly help.

If you have an email address then we will use this to respond with a Rider Number and allocated Start Time. If you don’t have an email address then please include a stamped self addressed envelope – with the correct postage for its size – with your cheque so that we can send you confirmation of, your rider number and allocated start time.
When applying by post or email the closing time for these applications will need to be received by 27th April 2020.
On the day
Entries are available on the day with a £5 surcharge. Please go to the registration area in the large marquee between 11.00 am and 2.30 pm on Sunday 28th April, where there will be a separate ‘on the day’ desk – please have your £37.50 CASH or CREDIT CARD READY – as no other payment method is available.

Getting Here
From Farnham
WARNING! HGV/ LARGE LORRIES and vehicles over 7.5 TON:
The Tilford Street Bridge over the River Wey in TILFORD is CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC FOR REPAIR.
The Tilford Road Bridge from Farnham over the River Wey at TILFORD has 7.5 ton WEIGHT LIMIT.
Lorries: From Farnham → Hindhead A287 pass Frensham pond on right. Next left into Jumps Road→ to T junction at Bel and The Dragon Hotel – turn left and approx. 2.2 miles the entrance is on the right
Private cars: Over railway crossing out of Farnham – bear right on Tilford Road
From Guildford
Take the A3 and enter the Hindhead Tunnel signposted Portsmouth and Petersfield. As you exit the tunnel take slip road signed Hindhead, Grayshott Haslemere. At first roundabout turn right towards Hindhead. At second roundabout take exit towards Hindhead. At third roundabout go straight on towards Hindhead. At mini roundabout take first exit on to A287 towards Farnham. After approx. 0.5 mile turn right signed Rushmoor and Tilford.
After approx. 5 miles – entrance on right
From Portsmouth
Do not enter the Hindhead Tunnel. Leave the A3 at the slip road before the entrance to the Hindhead Tunnel. At the roundabout follow signs to Hindhead. At second roundabout go straight on towards, Hindhead. At mini roundabout take first exit on to A287 towards Farnham. After approx. 0.5 miles turn right signed Rushmoor and Tilford.
After approx. 5 miles – entrance on right
Event Facilities
PARKING
There is ample parking at the site managed by parking stewards and 20′ access gates.
CATERING
On site for all your refreshment needs including the Barbarian Grill – The Hobo Co – Gin Inn with a covered seating area.
Course Mid Point Catering:- ATC runs a refreshment point situated two thirds of the way along the route, GU10 2JN, for riders who may like to take a break and meet up with friends. The cost is £2 payable at the start.

will photograph still and action shots available to purchase on the day and for use in future promotional activity such as the following years event.
LIPHOOK EQUINE HOSPITAL
On call should veterinary treatment be required. (Contact made via the secretary)
A MOBILE PARAMEDIC UNIT
East Sussex Ambulance Service will be in attendance
DENNERS TACK SHOP for all your equestrian tack, clothing and accessory needs.
ON-SITE SERVICES available at rider’s expense.

About The Hedgehogs
We are pleased to announce that in 2020 the HEDGEHOGS will continue with the organisation and managing of the Frensham Sponsored Horse Ride
The Hedgehogs are a local charity group unique to Farnham established in 1959 and this year celebrate their 60th anniversary having became a registered charity in 2001. We have a membership of around 50, there are no paid employees, all operating costs are funded by the membership and friends so that all funds raised are used for deserving causes “Helping local people in need” in the Farnham and the surrounding villages. Last year the Hedgehogs raised over £85,000
